About the University
The university of Shahab Danesh was established in 1385 (2006) as the first non-governmental university in the field of science and technology in province of Qom with permission of Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology with the efforts of number of Amir-Kabir Industrial University professors.
The main goal of the university is presenting the higher education at the level of country's best universities and upbringing efficient engineers in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, Civil Engineering, Graphics, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, Accounting, Management, and etc. This university has about 3500 students at this time.
In the month of Aban of 1396, the ministry of Science, R
esearch announced hid agreement with upgrading the Institute of Higher Education of Shahab Danesh to university.
Admission of students is granted through university entrance examination performed by country sanjesh organization. Admitted students will start their education according to regulations and requirements of Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology and after successful finishing of the course, they will receive their certificates with confirmation of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology just like the same procedure as in other universities.
This university has permission of offering the following courses:
- 18 fields with Masters Degrees;
- 17 fields with continuous Bachelor Degrees;
- 9 fields with non-continuous Bachelor Degrees;
- 10 fields with Associate Degrees;
And is planning to add Doctorate Degree starting from next year.
At present time, this university has more than 70 full time faculty members, 20
par-t time faculty members, and about 200 short-time faculty members that a great
number of them are from famous universities of Iran.
This university has been able to build three colleges building with a total area of 14000 m2 within an area of more than 26000 m2 in Pardisan Residential Complex. Construction of some more buildings are set in the plan of the university.
University Facilities:
This university has more than 15 spaces for workshops and laboratories which present about 40 different workshops and laboratories. The courses presented in workshops and laboratories (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Architecture, Civil, and …) are unique in province; and the variety of laboratories and workshops presented in the field of Electrical Engineering in this university are rare as compared with the ones in private or governmental universities in the country and it is considered as a reference university for consultation among other institutions. Some of the professional laboratories in this university are: fluid mechanic laboratory, hydraulics laboratory, concrete and aggregates laboratory, soil mechanics laboratory, physics laboratory, chemistry and materials laboratory, hydraulic and pneumatic laboratory. And some of the workshops are: workshops of Chinese knot, pottery, materials and construction, vehicles, lathing, electrical utilities, work sheets, welding, and winding.
Also, this university has two public computer sites (men and women), four computer workshops, and eleven architecture workshops.
In addition to above facilities, the university of Shahab Danesh has an equipped library with more than 10000 professional books, a mosque, an amphitheater, a soccer field, volleyball, basketball, indoor recreational area, self-service dining area, and buffet.

Research:
Electrical Research Center:
Electrical Research Center of University of Shahab Danesh started its official activities in winter of 1393 in order to identify and flourish the students' research capacity and to reinforce the research abilities and linking to industries. The active members in the center include 5 science committee and 20 excellent students from different specialties of electrical and biomedical engineering fields.
Objective:
"Preparation of appropriate environment for performing knowledge-based and researchable activities in the fields of electrical, electronics, control, and other related fields in order to increase scientific and researchable abilities in institution and promote the center's abilities in linking to industry."
Knowledge-Based and Research Activities:
After preparation of suitable hardware and software requirements, the knowledge-based and research activities will desirably be continued until the program's objectives are achieved and the research center will stand in a suitable technical and scientific position. Some of the pre-scheduled research activities in this section are:
1. Introduction of practical local projects with consideration of scientific abilities and hardware facilities available at the center;
2. Introduction of local research projects with capability of publishing the results in research and scientific journals;
3. Establishment of effective communication with other active research centers of the institution and performing interdisciplinary researches.
4. Strong relationship with industry and guiding some of the projects in industry in order to perform them at the research center.
Operated Practical, Research, and Innovative Projects at the electrical research center:
· Design and Build of panel at the gate of laboratories and workshops buildings in summer of 1395;
· Design and Build of long range communication system in UHF band in summer of 1395;
· Design and Build of multi-purpose 16-channel data logger in winter of 1395.
Completed and Underway research Projects:
§ Design and Implementation of wireless monitoring of networks of sensors for temperature and humidity of greenhouse. This project started in summer of 1395 with cooperation of computer research center. At first, the project was designed based on Wi-Fi network and the laboratory sample of that was designed and built with a few sensors. But at a later time, noting the performed tests and problems encountered in consuming high degree of power in Wi-Fi nodes and some communication problems and low reliability of the network, and then the project path was changed into using nodes compatible with ZigBee. At this time, all parts of design, construction, and all tests are finished and the project is ready for delivery.
§ Design and build of the sun follower system for use in solar panels. This project was started in autumn of 1395 and was finished at the end of winter of the same year. All steps of design, construction, commissioning, and tests were successfully accomplished at the electrical research center.
Computer research center:
In line with realization of objectives of university of Shahab Danesh, including identification and flourishing students research capacity and reinforcing research capability and relation with industry, and after beginning of activities in electrical research center in winter of 1393 and receiving positive feedbacks, the computer research center started its activities in autumn of 1394. In addition, with varied research issues in the fields of software, information technology, and artificial intelligence, and also the proper technical and research capability and high interest of students on other side have been the reasons for establishing the computer research center next to the college of computer engineering and electrical research center. The active members in computer research center are 4 science committee and 16 excellent computer engineering students.
One Year Objectives:
v Targeting bachelor and master degrees projects in order to use their usefulness and efficiency in the research and industry;
v Performing needed university projects;
v Performing interdisciplinary projects;
v Presentation of scientific articles to conferences and valid Iranian and foreign journals;
v Holding educational workshops at the university level according to university and students requirements;
v Holding educational workshops for essay writing at this and other universities level in general and professional levels;
v Analysis and research on the list of prioritized projects of organizations
v Performing at least one conference for master's degree students.
Five Years Objectives:
· Attracting out of university projects in line with improving relationship with industry;
· Presenting at least four essays in a year to valid international journals and six essays in a year to valid international conferences;
· Holding at least one national conference in a year;
· Holding one international conference
Projects that are finished or in progress
o Preparing an application to introduce the institute of Shahab Danesh in two versions of Android and IOS formats;
o Holding two training workshops for programming in android in Azar-Dey of year 1394 and in Farvardin-Ordibehesht of year 1395;
o Design and implementation of software for matching courses;
o Design and implementation of package software for professors;
o Design and implementation of software for getting to know the institutions;
o Design and implementation of system of enrolment at classes in engineering courses and in free training;
o Design and implementation of system for student's affairs;
o Design and implementation of wireless sensor networks for greenhouse of the Shahab Danesh with cooperation of electrical research center of the institute;
o Signing a cooperation agreement between the institute and Tehran Oil Refinery Company to aim at masters degrees projects and cooperation with industry;
o Preparation of ten essays in conferences and internal and international journals.
Scientific and Research Achievements:
§ Joint cooperation with Amir-Kabir University in line with holding 22nd national conference and 2nd conference of biomedical (during 1-8 of Azar of 1396), and getting ready for hosting and holding the same conference in next year;
§ Successful participation in 17th exhibition of research and technology achievements in 1395 with 11 plans from computer, electrical, and architecture research centers; which all of them succeeded to receive confirmation badge that was awarded by NASA (TRL) which is the indicator of confirmation of products of the exhibition;
§ Participation in 18th exhibition of research and technology achievements (during 22-26 Azar of 1396) with 17 plans from computer, electrical, civil, and architecture research centers; which all of them succeeded to receive confirmation badge that was awarded by NASA (TRL) which is the indicator of confirmation of products of the exhibition;
§ Receiving the national prize of Doctor Kazem Ashtiani by a member of civil science committee and allocation of 20 million tomans for research in university;
§ Receiving the statue of the skill learning and employment festival in 5th international festival of professional technical organization in year 1395 for the essay written in the computer research center;
§ Signing more than 10 cooperation agreements with companies in line with introducing student projects and financial support of those projects and cooperation with industry as well;
§ The winner of the 6th festival of innovations and inventions of Koohrang (by National Elite Foundation in 1395) and receiving third level of the national elite foundation with presentation of plan of "device to measure the angle of load immediately and based on DSP" in Qom, autumn of 1395;
§ Qualified to final stage of 2nd national festival of identification and empowering the selected ideas with innovated plan of "device to measure the angle of load immediately and based on DSP" in Tehran, autumn 1395;
§ Printing more than 50 essays in ISI journals and other international expert journals, and more than 100 essays in international conferences;
§ Printing 3 professional books and 3 books in process of printing.

Student Honors:
§ Ranked first in international tournaments of Iran-Open 2012;
§ Ranked third in international tournaments of Iran-Open 2015 in industrial robotics league;
§ Ranked first in robotic tournaments of Amir-Kabir university and fourth Kharazmi tournaments;
